"Clooney and I have been discussing it and we feel he’s really meant to be immortalized in portraiture and who better to paint this momentous portrait than one of his best friends, Todd who Clooney calls the best artist in the world. Photos are so ephemeral and anyone with a cellphone can take a selfie. But all presidents, kings, etc have portraits painted. Clooney is comfortable with being in the company of presidents and kings, though he pays them no more attention than common people. As usual, Todd has captured the spirit of his subject perfectly. A portrait fit to be hung in a great hall.”
